A Lightweight Implementation of a Shuffle Proof for Electronic Voting Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
In the usual setting of a verifiable mix-net, an input batch of ciphertexts is shuffled through a series of mixers into an output batch of ciphertexts while hiding the mapping between input and output and preserving the plaintexts. Unlike shuffling, proving the correctness of a shuffle is relatively expensive and difficult to implement. In this paper, we present a new implementation of a shuffle proof based on the proof system proposed by Wikström and Terelius. The implementation offers a clean and intuitive application programming interface and can be used as a lightweight cryptographic component in applications of verifiable mix-nets. Verifiable electronic voting is the most prominent target application area.

Pseudo-Code Algorithms for Verifiable Re-encryption Mix-Nets
Implementing the shuffle proof of a verifiable mix-net is one of the most challenging tasks in the implementation of an electronic voting system. For non-specialists, even if they are experienced software developers, this task is nearly impossible to fulfill without spending an enormous amount of resources into studying the necessary cryptographic theory. In this paper, we present one of the ex...
متن کاملA Non-interactive Shuffle with Pairing Based Verifiability
A shuffle is a permutation and re-encryption of a set of ciphertexts. Shuffles are for instance used in mix-nets for anonymous broadcast and voting. One way to make a shuffle verifiable is to give a zero-knowledge proof of correctness. All currently known practical zero-knowledge proofs for correctness of a shuffle rely on interaction. We give the first efficient non-interactive zeroknowledge p...
متن کاملEfficient and Verifiable Shuffling and Shuffle-Decryption
In this paper, we propose an efficient protocol for proving the correctness of shuffling and an efficient protocol for simultaneously proving the correctness of both shuffling and decryption. The former protocol is the most efficient in computational and communication complexity among 3-move honest verifier perfect zero-knowledge protocols for proving a shuffling of ElGamal cipher-texts. The la...
متن کاملDouble voter perceptible blind signature based electronic voting protocol
Mu et al. have proposed an electronic voting protocol and claimed that it protects anonymity of voters, detects double voting and authenticates eligible voters. It has been shown that it does not protect voter's privacy and prevent double voting. After that, several schemes have been presented to fulfill these properties. However, many of them suffer from the same weaknesses. In this p...
متن کاملEfficient Zero-Knowledge Argument for Correctness of a Shuffle
Mix-nets are used in e-voting schemes and other applications that require anonymity. Shuffles of homomorphic encryptions are often used in the construction of mix-nets. A shuffle permutes and reencrypts a set of ciphertexts, but as the plaintexts are encrypted it is not possible to verify directly whether the shuffle operation was done correctly or not. Therefore, to prove the correctness of a ...
